Case Studies of 「HAKO-FLO」- HAKO-FLO CLOUD Service

— Newsletter Archive: Newsletter Vol. 4, 2023/11/15 —

Introducing some examples of how the warehouse management solution “HAKO-FLO” is used to streamline manual tasks such as “inbound/outbound management,” “inventory management,” “stocktaking management,” and “documentation,” including cargo damage reports.

In our last newsletter, we introduced the improvement of operational efficiency by utilizing RFID.
In this issue, we will introduce how the “HAKO-FLO CLOUD” service can be used in conjunction with the “HAKO-FLO EZ-Report” and “HAKO-FLO RFID Query” services introduced in the previous issues to accelerate DX in warehouses.

◆ CLOUD Service to Improve Operational Efficiency

The HAKO-FLO consolidates information acquired by RFID readers that instantly read information from RFID radio tags, and iPad Pro that digitize cargo damage information to the CLOUD service, enabling centralized management of data at logistics warehouse sites.

1) Utilize as Evidence Eata indicating Cargo Condition
HAKO-FLO EZ-Report” is an iPad Pro equipped with a LiDAR sensor to measure and acquire cargo and product information by taking AR measurements and photographs. This information is recorded as a report, and at the same time, the data is stored on the “HAKO-FLO CLOUD” service.
Data stored on the CLOUD service can be searched or narrowed down by specific criteria by signing in to the HAKO-FLO CLOUD service using a web browser on a PC or tablet de vice, and the data can be called up whenever necessary. Since the cloud service is accessed via the Internet, data stored in the HAKO-FLO CLOUD service can be accessed at any time and from any location, allowing access to information on cargo and products in the warehouse from an office desk or remote location without visiting the warehouse floor. This reduces the amount of time spent traveling back and forth between the warehouse floor and the office.

2) Utilize as Asset Management Data showing which boxes, where, and how many
By using “HAKO-FLO RFID Query,” which instantly reads wireless tags attached to cargo and products using a RFID reader, in addition to instantly displaying information on scanned goods and cargo on the RFID reader screen without the need to visually check each item, the scanned data is stored on the CLOUD service. Data sent to and stored on the “HAKO-FLO CLOUD” service can be viewed in real time on a PC or tablet device using a web browser.
“HAKO-FLO RFID Query” can be used in a series of warehouse operation stages from receiving cargo and goods into the warehouse, storing them, and shipping them out. It helps incoming goods inspection and receipt, storage location and inventory in the warehouse, picking, and outgoing goods inspection information on the CLOUD service.
In addition, the HAKO-FLO can help customers operate their cargo and product supply chain operations more accurately and efficiently by obtaining cargo and product information from their existing WMS (Warehouse Management System) and utilizing that information with the HAKO-FLO CLOUD service.
In the case of delivery by truck after dispatch from the warehouse, it is also possible to scan the cargo or goods loaded on the truck to record that the dispatched cargo or goods have been reliably arranged for transportation to the destination.

3) Compare the Original Data on the CLOUD with the Data Actually Scanned, and Prevent Errors at the Warehouse Site
Cargo and product information scanned by HAKO-FLO RFID Query and HAKO-FLO EZ-Report can be reconciled in real time with information stored on the CLOUD service.
HAKO-FLO EZ-Report and HAKO-FLO RFID Query are featured with a function that enables them to check and match data on the HAKO-FLO CLOUD service via Wi-Fi, and the results can be confirmed in real time.
For example, inventory information can be uploaded to HAKO-FLO CLOUD in advance, and the inventory can be bulk scanned using HAKO-FLO RFID Query to complete inventory reconciliation in the cloud quickly and automatically.
In addition, QR codes on cargo and goods, and barcodes on job sheets can be read by HAKO-FLO EZ-Report and checked against information in HAKO-FLO CLOUD to prevent mislabeling of various labels used in the warehouse. The matching results can also be checked on the HAKO-FLO EZ-Report application.

The HAKO-FLO CLOUD service is used to support customers’ warehouse operations by further utilizing CLOUD services, such as utilizing the accumulated data for demand forecasting as statistical data on increases and decreases in material volume, and for inventory management as inventory data showing how long inventory has remained in the warehouse since it was first received. We are promoting activities to support our customers’ warehouse operations by further utilizing CLOUD services.
With feedback and market trends, we are continuously evolving CLOUD services that can be used in more and more scenarios.
